Transcript of an interview with Medical Herbalist Susan Siegenthaler, Director and founder of Herbal Products from organic

Susan Siegenthaler is a medical herbalist with over 25 years experience clinical practice in private. She also has qualifications as a therapist aroma of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in biology.

Susan is a longstanding member of Australia's largest Natural Therapies Association (ATM – Australian Traditional Medicine society) and is the founder of organic Herbal Products, a company specializing in the manufacture of therapeutic products Herbal and a wide range of handcrafted therapeutic grade natural and organic skin care.

The problem was my skin does not react well to them and many of my patients who follow me with skin problems use some of these brands.

Well, it was also very easy and very difficult. You see how a medical herbalist, you know, how the skin, you understand the physiology behind it and how herbs and essential oils may affect the functions of the skin. So if you know all this, it is relatively easy to develop effective care products.

But to develop a range of products that can easily and safely be sold to the general public, is a ball game altogether different.

Interviewer: Why?

Because now you no longer dealing with people you know, patients, family members, but you have products that can be used by everyone. Interviewer: How did you come about this challenge?

There were several things that helped. Well, I've always been a hippie in the heart and prefer I use these natural products, natural fiber clothing, and I have always been healthy foods. What really helped that my patients were willing to try my products because I was not charged, and they were very happy to give me feedback, comments and my ideas.

After a few years, products of skincare, I made has been used on hundreds of patients, friends and members of my family, and they had proved safe and effective. Until then, I knew what work and what is not.

Even as I know, I herbalist given the understanding not only of the human body, organs and their functions, but the inspection of plants that I had to take care of my patients. This has been an important factor in the development and formulation of products.

You see, there are herbs and essential oils you would Never use on a person if you had a thorough knowledge of their condition. On the other hand, there are herbs and essential oils, which are absolutely safe and very effective.
