Kennedy American. Gamini read and Re-read the book of JFK "Profiles in Courage" on several occasions. He invented Kennedy articulate beautiful intelligent and extremely efficient and organized. He always wanted a courageous political leader.
Was one Liberal Democrat and openly expressed his opinion that was not very nice to have some. That's when people in Sri Lanka saw the qualities of genuine leadership Gamini. With his political career in the UNP in doubt and so many conspiracies against him, he beat well. It never, never became a stooge. Gamini always believed in what he did. Took public ridicule and harassment in its approach with Lalith and began a journey of new political policy in Sri Lanka. He left the UNP to form the Democratic United National Front (DUNF). The boy who read the "Profiles in Courage" Kennedy, thirty years ago, a profile in courage. Gamini at the back in the UNP as opposition leader and Vice-President of the UNP, there was word only politicians but also a statesman. He was a grandfather, fifty-two. He was very charming, had a phenomenal memory for people and things, and was brilliant speakers and extremely efficient and ruthless political operators. When Gamini was became the President of Sri, he would have turned to Sri Lanka and was truly an island paradise.
